Provider notes
Energy. Grid-connected; proprietary waterless cooling eliminates cooling-related energy overhead
Water. ThermalWorks liquid-to-chip cooling exceeding 200 kW per rack; zero water consumption for cooling; saves 277M+ gallons annually vs conventional data centers
Community. Aurora officials approved the Edged campus (rezoning + preliminary plan) and the state EDC lists it as an economic-development win, but city-wide data-center concern led Aurora to pass some of Illinois's strongest data-center regulations in March 2026 (sound limits, resource-consumption reporting, mandatory council approval, a prior moratorium). No Edged-specific organized opposition identified.
What the source record says
Address: 2835 Bilter Rd, Aurora IL (DuPage County). Total campus planned at 96 MW across three buildings. Explicitly purpose-built for high-density AI workloads. Coordinates approximate for Bilter Rd area of north Aurora; address confirmed in operator press release. A confirmed capex figure of ~$300M covers the first building (ORD01-1) only, not the ~96 MW three-building campus; construction-workforce figures (~2,000 full campus) are projections. No Illinois DCEO data-center exemption certification was found for Edged.
Any MW value is reproduced as source-reported context. Its measurement boundary is not established consistently enough for comparison. Unknown is not zero.
