Summary

On 7 July 2026 the Prince George's County Council adopted Resolution CR-066-2026, which pauses the acceptance, processing, review and approval of preliminary plans of subdivision and detailed site plans that include a qualified data center use. The pause took effect on adoption and lasts until the earlier of two years after adoption or the effective date of comprehensive County Council data center legislation. Its recitals say it continues the approach of CR-098-2025, whose six-month pause expired on 16 March 2026. It applies only in Prince George's County.

What this does not establish

  • Qualified data center has the meaning in Part 27-5 of Subtitle 27 of the County Code, which was not opened.
  • The two-year end is not stored as a calendar day because the resolution does not print one.
  • County Executive Orders 42-2025, 1-2026 and 15-2026 on permit applications are described in the recitals but were not opened and are not recorded here.
  • It is a county measure; it does not apply elsewhere in Maryland and does not close existing facilities.

Unresolved questions

  • Whether the Council enacts comprehensive data center legislation that ends the pause early (CB-085-2026 and CB-019-2026 are pending).

Relationships

Supersession means a later instrument replaces the earlier legal effect. Repeal links identify the repeal instrument and the measure it ends. A later implementation or related letter is not treated as a replacement unless the record says so.
