Provider notes

Energy. Raeden's co-founder says the project is cleared to use a maximum of 50 MW — about half what the building was rated to draw as an Intel chip plant — against a Colorado Springs Utilities peak-day output of 976 MW per its 2025 report. Backup only: 30 standby generators are planned, sited near Garden of the Gods Road and screened by sound walls.

Water. Air-cooled closed-loop system with 36 chillers (34 typically running at 75%); the developer says the roughly 200,000 gallons in the loop are not replenished because there is no evaporation, leaving only domestic water use for occupants.

Community. Colorado Springs Planning Commission voted 6-2 (July 2026) to deny five appeals of the project's staff-level administrative approval — filed by a resident and an advocacy group — after a marathon public hearing, attaching conditions (a 50MW power cap and low-frequency infrasound monitoring).
