Provider notes
Energy. 100% renewable coverage since 2021 via U.S. wind VPPAs and Green-e certified wind RECs; no on-site generation. Dominion Energy serves all of Loudoun County, where data-center load reached roughly 5.3 GW by 2025.
Water. Uses Loudoun Water reclaimed (non-potable) water for cooling; legacy buildings use chilled water, DC12 uses indirect evaporative cooling, and newer high-density AI buildings use chilled water. No facility-specific volume is disclosed.
Community. Data centers generate a large share of Loudoun County's general-fund revenue and the county chair has called Equinix an 'excellent community partner,' but amid rising residential and environmental opposition the Board voted 7–2 in March 2025 to end by-right data-center development, now requiring special-exception public hearings. Equinix is eligible for Virginia's statewide data-center sales-and-use tax exemption, but state law bars disclosure of individual recipients and amounts.
Any MW value is reproduced as source-reported context. Its measurement boundary is not established consistently enough for comparison. Unknown is not zero.
