Provider notes
Community. At the April 2024 supervisors meeting one resident objected to living beside a 70-foot concrete wall, and Supervisor Jodie Hoadley raised loss of productive farmland and said project officials 'could not answer what was in it for Adair County.' The board determined zoning involvement was needed before the project could proceed and set a public hearing on a setback ordinance for April 24, 2024.
What the source record says
Proposed southeast of Adair adjacent to a NextEra Energy substation. Local reporting put projected employment at 40-70 full-time positions with 50-200 construction workers; those are ranges and are not recorded as a jobs figure. The most recent primary reporting located this session dates to April 2024, and Adair County put its large-scale building ordinance on hold the following month, so the project's current standing is uncertain — confidence is 'reported' and the 200 MW figure comes from a third-party project tracker, not from the developer.
Any MW value is reproduced as source-reported context. Its measurement boundary is not established consistently enough for comparison. Unknown is not zero.
