Summary

Maine Legislative Document 307 would have temporarily stopped state and local approvals for data centers with loads of 20 megawatts or more until 1 November 2027 and created a data center coordination council. The Governor vetoed the bill on 24 April 2026 and the Legislature sustained the veto on 29 April 2026, so it did not become law. The 1 November 2027 date was part of the proposal and is not the end of anything in force.

What this does not establish

  • The final engrossed text was not separately opened; the record uses the committee amendment text and the Legislature's status page.
  • The Governor's veto message (me-governor-ld307-veto-message-20260424) and Executive Order 5 on a data center advisory council (me-governor-eo5-data-center-advisory-council-2026) are separate records.

None recorded.

Relationships

Supersession means a later instrument replaces the earlier legal effect. Repeal links identify the repeal instrument and the measure it ends. A later implementation or related letter is not treated as a replacement unless the record says so.
