Community. Walsenburg's mayor and town administrator said they were unaware of the plan when contacted in early 2026. Mayor Gary Vezzani said he could not see the city council supplying municipal utilities to the facility and doubted it would replace the jobs lost with the town's shuttered correctional facility or safeguard the town's water rights.

(OTCID: BSAI), Salt Lake City, announced a purchase and sale agreement dated 2025-08-26 for LOT 1 INDIAN POOL RANCH, 36.06 acres north of Walsenburg, for up to 15 MW of modular 'SkyMod' compute. As of the Gazette's reporting in early 2026 the sale had not closed and the site remained under agreement with owner Snowy River Ranches. Coordinates are the Walsenburg town centroid (approximate); the parcel is north of town.
