Summary

The Brewer City Council enacted Council Order 2026-C010 on 12 May 2026 as part of a unanimous consent-calendar vote. The order adds data center use tiers to the city's land use code, requires off-lot water for every data center tier and major site plan review for Tier 2 and Tier 3, sets noise limits for generators and cooling equipment, and prohibits data centers of 20 megawatts and over. The minutes do not print a separate effective day, so none is stored.

What this does not establish

  • The source is the official meeting minutes, which contain the order text and the vote; a separately signed order was not opened.
  • The minutes recite that Brewer orders generally take effect five days after passage; that rule was not used to store an effective day.
  • Maine's statewide proposal L.D. 307 is a separate instrument and did not become law.

Unresolved questions

None recorded.

Relationships

Supersession means a later instrument replaces the earlier legal effect. Repeal links identify the repeal instrument and the measure it ends. A later implementation or related letter is not treated as a replacement unless the record says so.

  • No related action is recorded.
