Summary

The Louisville Metro Council passed O-135-26 on 13 August 2026 (Ordinance No. 151, Series 2026). It pauses acceptance and processing of rezonings, conditional use permits, certain development plans and repurposing building permits for data centers and telecommunications hotels while the Land Development Code review proceeds. It runs 180 days from its effective date unless repealed, extended, or ended by final Council action on the code amendments. It is a temporary local pause, not a permanent ban.

What this does not establish

  • The signed ordinance PDF on louisville.legistar1.com does not permit automated access; the text used is the Legistar API text version 3 (floor amendment of 13 August 2026) and the matter record showing passage and the enactment number.
  • The mayor's approval date was not opened, so the effective date and the exact 180-day end date are not stored.
  • The ordinance covers telecommunications hotels as well as data centers.
  • When checked on 24 September 2026, the council's public Legistar page for O-135-26 still showed the status Postponed; the council's machine-readable record of the same matter, linked under Sources, shows passage on 13 August 2026 as Ordinance No. 151, Series 2026.

Supersession means a later instrument replaces the earlier legal effect. Repeal links identify the repeal instrument and the measure it ends. A later implementation or related letter is not treated as a replacement unless the record says so.
