Capacity held out of the public projection.

100 MW is described as contingent utility demand, not a demonstrated planned IT-capacity value. The upstream row remains attributed below, but this value is not repeated as site capacity.

Provider notes

Energy. Bay News 9 (2026-07-06) reported that Project Swan would need about 100 MW, contingent on Lakeland Electric being able to supply it. The mayor said the utility's largest current customer is 18 MW.

Water. The developer said water use would be limited to everyday operational needs, not server cooling. The cooling method was not identified.

Community. More than 50 residents attended the June 1, 2026 Lakeland City Commission meeting to oppose the proposed 'Project Swan' hyperscale data center, with 18 speaking against it during audience comments. Resident Magdalene DuPree called the project 'a bad fit' and objected to a facility 'extracting value from us.' A grassroots petition campaign and coalition rally pushed the City Commission to consider a temporary data-center moratorium. No organized support for the project was documented in coverage reviewed.

What the source record says

600,000 sq ft across 3 buildings on 60.5 acres (4 parcels, near 923 Wilkinson Rd). Zoning may prohibit the project — data centers are not in Lakeland's Land Development Code — and part of the site is unincorporated Polk County, requiring annexation.

Capacity is not ranked or totaled here.

Any MW value is reproduced as source-reported context. Its measurement boundary is not established consistently enough for comparison. Unknown is not zero.

  2. 2026-06 · source-reported cancelled

CONFLICTING REPORTING - flag for maintainer judgment before applying. A 2026-06-03 city clarification (WUSF/LkldNow 'Still Active') said the applicant only withdrew from a June 3 Development Review Team meeting, not the application itself, after it was mistakenly marked withdrawn in the city's iMS system. But this 2026-09-01 piece states flatly the application 'had already been withdrawn in June' and that no data-center applications were pending when Lakeland passed its 1-year, 50MW-threshold moratorium on 2026-08-03. Reporting as cancelled on the more recent, more specific source, but the earlier contradiction should be checked.
