Provider notes
Energy. Developer describes combining solar farms, battery storage and modular gas units with cooperative grid power; the serving cooperative is a member of Tri-State Generation and Transmission. Major natural gas lines run parallel to Interstate 80 within about 30 miles, in nearby Nebraska.
Community. Logan County declared a moratorium on data centers, battery storage, solar and wind development in October 2025 while it wrote regulations; planning-commission recommendations went to the county commissioners on 2026-01-06. Existing wind farms add roughly $2.5 million a year to the county tax base.
What the source record says
Proposed hyperscale campus roughly 21 miles northwest of Sterling, 8-10 miles from the Nebraska border, discussed as up to 2 GW on about 4,000 acres. A $15 billion figure was attributed to a speaker describing investment across the corridor between Sterling and the Nebraska border, so it is deliberately NOT recorded as this site's investment. Coordinates are the Sterling town centroid (approximate); the site itself is northwest of town and has no confirmed parcel.
Any MW value is reproduced as source-reported context. Its measurement boundary is not established consistently enough for comparison. Unknown is not zero.

That does not mean the row is wrong, and it does not mean no reviewed record exists for the same place. A link is added only when an identifier or source establishes the match.
