Summary

Otter Tail Power Company petitioned the South Dakota Public Utilities Commission on 27 July 2026 to create a very large customer class and a new high power compute rate schedule for customers with at least 75 MW of firm data center load. The proposed take-or-pay service would assign data center costs to the data center, with a proposed start of 1 January 2027. The docket is pending and nothing has been approved. The current docket lists a 29 September 2026 supplemental filing and revised tariff revisions; it still labels the matter pending. The revised proposed terms have not been separately reconciled here.

What this does not establish

  • This is the utility's pending petition; as of 2026-09-23 the docket page shows the case as Pending with no orders listed.
  • Revised tariff attachments filed on 5 August 2026 were not opened, so the proposed terms may have changed.
  • The petition's references to parallel Minnesota and North Dakota filings are outside this state's records.

Unresolved questions

None recorded.

Relationships

Supersession means a later instrument replaces the earlier legal effect. Repeal links identify the repeal instrument and the measure it ends. A later implementation or related letter is not treated as a replacement unless the record says so.
