Provider notes
Water. The source states the cooling system would NOT be connected to municipal water and that the facility's draw would rank below the city's 20th-largest water customer. That rules out a municipally-supplied evaporative load but does not describe the heat-rejection circuit, so coolingType is left 'unknown' rather than inferred as air or closed_loop.
Community. The planning commission voted 7-2 on 2026-06-04 to deny the site plan after postponing the decision three times, citing needed zoning-ordinance revisions, missing information and inadequate engineering studies, and a sound study that failed to demonstrate noise mitigation. Residents cheered the rejection; a nurse practitioner raised pollution concerns in an area with high asthma rates near Melvindale High School. The commission also recommended a six-month moratorium on data-center development.
What the source record says
26 MW proposal on Enterprise Drive south of I-94, near homes and Melvindale High School. Status 'cancelled' records the DENIED site plan; the source does not report an appeal or resubmission. CONFIRMED ABSENCES: no acreage, investment figure, or job count is stated in either source. Coordinates are Nominatim's street-level match for Enterprise Drive, the only location the source gives (no house number); the parcel is not confirmed.
Any MW value is reproduced as source-reported context. Its measurement boundary is not established consistently enough for comparison. Unknown is not zero.
