Provider notes
Water. Developer states water consumption of less than 300 acre-feet annually. Nye County's water district approved an emergency ban on new data centers in Pahrump's water basin to preserve groundwater.
Community. Residents packed a July 2026 Nye County town hall and a subsequent county forum to object; a public petition opposing the project is circulating. Nye County adopted a moratorium on data center applications in June 2026 and a ban in water basin 162 on August 18, 2026.
These reviews flag conflicting scope, inconsistent source text or support that has not been established. A withheld value may appear in the explanation, but is not displayed as an established field. The upstream row remains attributed under Sources.
- Cooling: Previously held pending provider-field review. The concern has not been resolved by an independent source review for this captured edition; the field remains withheld.
What the source record says
Formerly referred to as Project Blackjack; sited on the Manse Road corridor near the southern entrance to Pahrump along Highway 160, roughly 1,100 feet from the nearest homes. Developer states $18.4 billion of capital investment at full buildout and $114 million in annual Nye County property taxes; a separate figure of $8.4 billion appeared in other reporting and was not resolved this session, so the developer's own $18.4B is recorded. Design features include screening berms, rooftop parapets for sound reduction and a target of roughly 55 dB at the property line. No megawatt capacity has been disclosed. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2027 with a five-year buildout, pending approvals that the county moratorium currently blocks.
Any MW value is reproduced as source-reported context. Its measurement boundary is not established consistently enough for comparison. Unknown is not zero.
