Provider notes

Energy. Grid-served by Ameren Illinois inside MISO; formal interconnection and system impact studies required before energization.

Water. Closed-loop recirculation; cooling water trucked in from outside Logan County and reused approximately four to seven years. About 9,000 gallons/day of local water for domestic needs only.

Community. Latham canceled its Aug. 3, 2026 annexation/rezoning vote after an informal poll showed it would fail. The county tabled the applications over technical errors, and opponents (Sustain Logan County Communities) cite a lack of transparency.

What the source record says

AI/cloud campus proposed near Latham in Logan County; estimated up to $65M/year in property tax revenue and a project labor agreement with local trades. landAcres omitted: the operator page states 50 acres while press accounts describe roughly 200 acres of farmland. Public-reception check (2026-09-10): Hut 8's own project page documents a real community-engagement process -- a public meeting before the Logan County Board's Zoning and Economic Development Committee (2026-01-05), a local radio interview (2026-01-15), and a community open house at the Lincoln Banquet Center (2026-02-04) -- but records no resident reaction, vote outcome, or opposition/support statement from any of those events. Checked: operator project page only; Logan County meeting minutes not checked.

Capacity is not ranked or totaled here.

Any MW value is reproduced as source-reported context. Its measurement boundary is not established consistently enough for comparison. Unknown is not zero.
