This is a source-attributed discovery row. It can help you find a place and its citations; it is not a DataCenterData finding that the facility is distinct or currently operating.
The row describes a proposed cable landing station rather than a data center; it remains a searchable discovery lead but is not counted or plotted as a data center. The licensed source row and its citations remain available here.

Provider notes
Community. Worcester County staff determined the proposed cable landing station does not qualify as a public utility and is not permitted under the site's current C-2 zoning. After 'months of debate' and public hearings, the County Commissioners unanimously enacted a 12-month moratorium (Resolution No. 26-18, enacted 2026-07-21) on the submittal and issuance of permits for both data centers and cable landing stations, applying to Globalinx's pending application while the county drafts new zoning rules.
What the source record says
AWS is the anchor tenant of the Fastnet transatlantic subsea cable (Ocean City, MD to Castlefreke, County Cork, Ireland; ~320 Tbps across 16 fiber pairs); Globalinx's lease agreement was signed late 2025 with a targeted Q3 2027 ready-for-service date and Fastnet operational in 2028. No source fetched this run states a specific street address or parcel — reporting places the site 'near Ocean City Municipal Airport' off Route 611 / Stephen Decatur Highway outside Berlin. Coordinates are therefore a disclosed representative pin at Ocean City Municipal Airport (via OSM Nominatim), NOT a confirmed parcel location; precision is approximate. 24,000 sq ft facility designed to support up to four subsea cable systems; capacityMw.planned=5 reflects the reported scalable-to-5MW power capacity, not a confirmed operational figure.
Any MW value is reproduced as source-reported context. Its measurement boundary is not established consistently enough for comparison. Unknown is not zero.
