Provider notes
Energy. Planned hybrid power: 300MW solar, 1,200MWh battery storage, and 1.5GW natural gas generation.
Water. "expected to rely primarily on air-cooled and closed-loop cooling systems designed to reduce water consumption." Recorded as closed_loop per the methodology tie-breaker: air-cooled chillers over a recirculating circuit are closed_loop; `air` is reserved for designs with no cooling water circuit at all.
What the source record says
Approximately 8 miles north of Newcastle, roughly 20 miles from Cedar City; application on hold pending the county's data-center moratorium. Subsidies checked (2026-09-08): structural zero — the project is proposed and on hold under Iron County's moratorium, and no Iron County or Newcastle CRA/RDA was found to execute a pre-approval participation agreement; Utah's EDTIF programme excludes data centres and the UCA 59-12-104 exemption is self-executing.
Any MW value is reproduced as source-reported context. Its measurement boundary is not established consistently enough for comparison. Unknown is not zero.
Status history supplied by the source

Application submitted May 4, 2026 and deemed incomplete May 22, 2026; on hold under Iron County's 180-day data center moratorium.

Compute Atlas 1.34.1 with retained prior rows and publication holds. This is a DataCenterData composite, not an unmodified publisher edition. This row uses the captured source from 1.34.1, source as of 2026-10-14T20:40:52.293Z.
That does not mean the row is wrong, and it does not mean no reviewed record exists for the same place. A link is added only when an identifier or source establishes the match.
