What the source record says
Conversion of the former Appalachian Power Company office building into a ~60,000 sq ft Tier III-quality data center, announced 2024-10-30 as Alpha Technologies' new headquarters, expanding from the company's existing South Charleston site. The only dated primary source fetched this run (WCHS, published 2024-10-30) reports construction starting mid-November 2024 with phase 1 targeted for completion by March 2025; unverified secondary summaries suggest the conversion may since be complete, but no dated 2025/2026 primary source confirming operational status was fetched this run, so status is left at under_construction rather than asserting operational on an unfetched claim. One outlet (WV MetroNews/DCD, not independently refetched) gives the street number as 1125 6th Avenue while WCHS and the Census geocoder both resolve 1225 6th Avenue, Huntington, WV 25701 as a valid address -- used 1225 as the geocoded value; the 1125 figure may be a transcription variant. $10M was the announced initial investment for this site.
Any MW value is reproduced as source-reported context. Its measurement boundary is not established consistently enough for comparison. Unknown is not zero.
