Summary

H.727, as passed by both houses, would have created the Vermont Sustainable Data Centers Act with a 20-megawatt data center definition and a Public Utility Commission rate class, tariff and contract framework for data centers. The Senate Journal records the Governor's veto of 28 May 2026, and the bill status page records that the veto was sustained on 29 May 2026. The bill did not become law.

What this does not establish

  • The bill PDF is the text as passed by both houses; it does not itself record the veto. The veto day is from the 28 May 2026 Senate Journal and the sustain vote from the bill status page.
  • The end date recorded here is the day the veto was sustained (29 May 2026); the veto communication is dated 28 May 2026.
  • The tariff and contract duties in the bill were not established as Public Utility Commission orders.

Relationships

Supersession means a later instrument replaces the earlier legal effect. Repeal links identify the repeal instrument and the measure it ends. A later implementation or related letter is not treated as a replacement unless the record says so.
