Summary
The Luna Pier City Council adopted Ordinance No. 251 on 26 March 2026; notice of adoption was published on 1 April 2026 and the ordinance took effect on 11 April 2026. It stops the city from accepting or processing applications, permits and approvals for data centers while the city studies zoning rules. It runs for one year from the effective date or until a city zoning amendment regulating data centers takes effect, whichever comes first. It is a temporary moratorium, not a permanent prohibition.
What this does not establish
- The stored end date, 11 April 2027, is computed from the one-year term and the printed effective date; the ordinance prints no calendar end date.
- The clerk's certification says seven members were present and none absent but lists one member as absent; the vote tally is not relied on here.
- An earlier end on the effective date of a city zoning amendment would not appear in this document.
Unresolved questions
- Whether a city zoning amendment regulating data centers takes effect before 11 April 2027, which would end the moratorium earlier.
Relationships
Supersession means a later instrument replaces the earlier legal effect. Repeal links identify the repeal instrument and the measure it ends. A later implementation or related letter is not treated as a replacement unless the record says so.
- No related action is recorded.
