Summary

DeKalb County planning staff proposed text amendment 2025-0972 to add a data center definition, regulatory guidelines and development standards to the county zoning code for the industrial and office districts. The Board of Commissioners denied the amendment on 23 June 2026, so it is not current law. The county moratorium on data center applications (extended by Resolution 2026-1109) is a separate instrument.

What this does not establish

  • Only the official Legistar matter record was opened; the draft standards were not read.
  • A February 2026 resolution (2026-0341) asked staff to update the recommended substitute; the denied substitute text was not opened.
  • When checked on 24 September 2026, the county's public Legistar page for 2025-0972 showed the status Public Hearing with no recorded action; the county's machine-readable record of the same matter, linked under Sources, shows the Board of Commissioners denied it on 23 June 2026.

Relationships

Supersession means a later instrument replaces the earlier legal effect. Repeal links identify the repeal instrument and the measure it ends. A later implementation or related letter is not treated as a replacement unless the record says so.
