Provider notes
Water. Company representative committed to a closed-loop water system (stated commitment, not a permit).
Community. Pierce Township's data center moratorium is in force. The zoning commission heard the pitch on Sept 1, 2026, with commissioners split. Residents raised water, noise, lighting and green-space concerns.
What the source record says
Coordinates are those of the adjacent former Beckjord station (approximate). The site is wooded hillside north of Beckjord Road and east of US 52, and the company says it will avoid the plant's coal-ash pits. Township trustees say they are not entertaining the project and extended the moratorium.
Any MW value is reproduced as source-reported context. Its measurement boundary is not established consistently enough for comparison. Unknown is not zero.

Crane presented a 300 MW, three-building proposal on ~300 acres (three parcels) adjacent to the closed Beckjord power plant to the Pierce Township Zoning Commission. It still requires zoning commission and trustee approval.
