Summary

After a public hearing on 15 June 2026, the Adams County Board of Supervisors approved Resolution 2026-25 with four members voting aye and one absent. The resolution stops the County from accepting, processing, approving or issuing building, zoning, conditional use, special use, site plan, subdivision and other land use approvals for data centers, and bars starting data center construction or site work, for 24 months from adoption unless the Board repeals, modifies or extends it. It took effect on adoption and allows individual applications to be submitted to the Board for consideration. It is a temporary resolution, not a permanent prohibition.

What this does not establish

  • The resolution text is taken from the Board's minutes of 15 June 2026; the original resolution on file in the Auditor's office was not reviewed.
  • The resolution applies to data centers 'within the County'; the hearing notice said the moratorium would apply to unincorporated areas of Adams County. The resolution does not say whether it reaches incorporated cities.
  • The stored 15 June 2028 end date is computed as 24 months from adoption on 15 June 2026; the resolution prints no calendar end date.

Unresolved questions

  • Whether the Board repeals, modifies or extends the resolution before 15 June 2028.

Relationships

Supersession means a later instrument replaces the earlier legal effect. Repeal links identify the repeal instrument and the measure it ends. A later implementation or related letter is not treated as a replacement unless the record says so.

  • No related action is recorded.
