Summary

Florida Senate Bill 1118 of 2026, as amended in committee, would have exempted from public records requirements information about a person's plans, intentions or interest to locate a data center. Three Senate committees reported it favorably, but according to the official bill history, died on the Senate calendar on 13 March 2026. The same page says a companion bill, CS/CS/SB 484, passed as chapter 2026-65; that act is a separate record.

What this does not establish

  • The Senate bill page says "companion bill(s) passed, see CS/CS/SB 484"; whether chapter 2026-65 contains an equivalent public-records provision was not compared text-for-text, so this record does not say the exemption was or was not enacted by other means.
  • The bill text was read only through the official bill page summary.

Unresolved questions

  • Whether chapter 2026-65 or a later act enacted an equivalent public-records exemption for data center siting information was not determined.

Relationships

Supersession means a later instrument replaces the earlier legal effect. Repeal links identify the repeal instrument and the measure it ends. A later implementation or related letter is not treated as a replacement unless the record says so.

  • No related action is recorded.
