- Announced construction jobs: Row notes identify 1,500 as only the low end of a 1,500–2,000 range, not a point estimate.
- Announced permanent jobs: Row notes identify 150 as only the low end of a 150–200 range, not a point estimate.
What the source record says
The pin is the Great Falls city centroid, not the parcel. The site was 569 acres adjacent to AgriTech Park, north of Malmstrom Air Force Base, outside city limits. The reported investment was $1-1.5 billion. Job figures are the low ends of the reported ranges: 1,500-2,000 construction and 150-200 permanent.
Any MW value is reproduced as source-reported context. Its measurement boundary is not established consistently enough for comparison. Unknown is not zero.
Status history supplied by the source
- 2025-06-17 · source-reported proposed
TAC Data Centers announced Project Cardinal, a hyperscale campus of about 2 million sq ft that would need up to 600 MW, on a 569-acre site just outside Great Falls' northeast boundary between Malmstrom AFB and the Missouri River.
- 2025-11-18 · source-reported cancelled
TAC released its option to lease the 569 acres. NorthWestern Energy's power timelines did not fit the project.

That does not mean the row is wrong, and it does not mean no reviewed record exists for the same place. A link is added only when an identifier or source establishes the match.
