Scope

Colorado Senate Bill 26-102 would have created requirements for large-load data centers, defined in the bill as a new data center with a peak load of more than 30 megawatts (or new data centers with a collective peak load of more than 60 megawatts), or an existing data center adding more than 30 megawatts (or more than 60 megawatts collectively). Its measures involved the Public Utilities Commission, utilities, the Department of Public Health and Environment, the Department of Local Affairs and local governments. The Senate Transportation and Energy Committee postponed it indefinitely on 11 May 2026, and it did not become law.
