Provider notes

Energy. Developers are seeking up to 750 MW from Rocky Mountain Power's grid through a Mona transmission line. The permit application says on-site natural gas generation could also be used, and Deseret News reports that a gas-powered plant is planned.

Water. Developers describe closed-loop cooling with trucked-in water. The water source is unclear (Salt Lake Tribune).

Community. More than 100 people opposed the project at the Sept. 8, 2026 Juab County Commission meeting, and residents formed Mona Cares: Neighbors for Responsible Development.

Some source-reported values are held out of this page.

These reviews flag conflicting scope, inconsistent source text or support that has not been established. A withheld value may appear in the explanation, but is not displayed as an established field. The upstream row remains attributed under Sources.

  • Announced investment: Row context supports acreage and CUP history but not the new exact investment amount.

What the source record says

Up to 10 single-story buildings of about 300,000 sq ft each (about 3M sq ft) on about 361 acres of agricultural land off Goshen Road, near the town of Mona. The CUP covers Sections 13 and 14, T11S R1W. The coordinates are approximated from those PLSS sections and are not parcel-confirmed. SetSquare co-founder Jonathan Vanica is quoted by Deseret News.

Capacity is not ranked or totaled here.

Any MW value is reproduced as source-reported context. Its measurement boundary is not established consistently enough for comparison. Unknown is not zero.
